Cold and Snowy Saturday

Posted on 29th December 2012 in Around Here, Environment, Family, House and Home

Today does not feel like a Saturday. I think the crazy busy days and having Christmas on a Tuesday has my internal calendar all messed up. I feel like Christmas was more like a Sunday and today should be mid week I was not ready for Saturday errands and chores at all.

When we woke up this morning it was snowing a little. I took my dogs outside for about an hour and nearly froze my patootie! The wind was blowing and I think this might have been the coldest day all year for us. The snow blew around in the air but never really stuck on the ground. We were looking forward to having enough snow build up so we could make a snowman. but that never happened today.

Thanks to Pinterest I have seen some great photos of snowmen and snowladies to make when we do have enough snow for that. I also saw a great idea of filling up balloons with colored water and leaving them outside overnight to freeze. In the morning you cut away the balloons and you have a long row of huge frozen marbles! Wouldn’t that be fun? I think it would be fun to line the front of the house with a row of brightly colored ice marbles and then lay a row of Christmas tree lights on the grass alongside them. I bet they light up in wonderful bright colors and look magical!
