Most of the time I am really strict about an early bed time for the kids, but we have been home on a holiday schedule for a while and no school for a few more days, so I agreed to let them stay up late last night. We watched a movie (Santa paws 2 – really cute!!!) and then turned on the TV for the show on Channel 2 about the Times Square party with Ryan Seacrest. If the kids had not been watching I probably would have watched the party on CNN with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin, but she is a little too crass for me to be comfortable having the kids watch.
We were snuggled on the couch and I had poured little cups of sparkling grape juice so we could pretend it was champagne and make a toast to the new year. But all three of us dozed off way before midnight and we totally missed the ball drop. LOL
I think I woke up around 3:00 and realized that we missed everything, so I carried the kids to bed and saved the juice for breakfast. We all had a good laugh about it this morning.
